Privacy Policy

This explains what Region Beacon collects when you use Region Beacon, why, and what control you have over it.

What we collect

Account information — your name, email address, phone number, and password. Passwords are stored only as a cryptographic hash; we never see them.
Business listing information — everything a business owner enters about their business: description, services, prices, hours, license number, service area, and photos. This is published publicly, on purpose.
Requests and quotes — the job descriptions, photos, and locations customers submit, and the quotes businesses send back.
Approximate location — a city, ZIP, or coordinates, so we can show businesses near you. You choose whether to share precise location; the site works without it.
Technical data — IP address, browser type, and pages viewed, kept for security and to keep the site working.

What we do not collect

We never see or store your card number, CVC, or bank details. All payments run through Stripe, which collects that information directly. We store only a Stripe customer reference and whether your subscription is active.

How we use it

To run the site: show listings, deliver requests to businesses, return quotes to customers.
To bill business subscriptions and manage trials and cancellations.
To answer support requests you send us.
To detect fraud, abuse, and security problems.
To meet legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers.

Who we share it with

Only the service providers needed to run the site, and only what each one needs:

Supabase — hosts the database and handles login.
Stripe — processes subscription payments.
Render — hosts the application.
Google (Gemini) — powers AI features. Text and photos you submit for AI categorization or diagnosis are sent to Google for processing.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the rights and safety of our users or ourselves.

What other users see

A business listing is public: its name, description, services, prices, hours, photos, service area, and reviews. When you submit a request for quotes, the businesses you send it to receive your description, photos, general location, and the contact details you provide, so they can reach you. Do not put anything in a request that you would not want a stranger to read.

Cookies and local storage

We use browser storage to keep you signed in and remember preferences like language and theme. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

How long we keep it

Account and listing data is kept while your account is open. When you delete your account we remove your personal data within 30 days, except records we must keep for tax, accounting, or legal reasons. Backups roll off on their own schedule.

Your rights

You can ask us to show you the data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or send you a copy. Email support@regionbeacon.com and we will respond within 30 days. If you are in California, the EU, or the UK, you may have additional rights under your local law, and we honor them.

Children

Region Beacon is not for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we will delete it.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit, passwords are hashed, and database access is restricted by row-level security rules so users can only reach their own records. No system is perfectly secure, but if a breach affects your data we will tell you.

Changes

If we change this policy materially we will post notice on the site before it takes effect.
